….. Pan Bagnat as nothing to do with Provence. It is a recipe from NICE, and ONLY from Nice.

It was a recipe destined to poor people, after the 1^st French invasion under the bastard Louis XIV. French troops killed our resistant’s and no meet was left. It was time to find something else.

Please tell the truth to the invaders….OR….

Dear M./Mme. _____:

Many thanks for this important historical clarification — I have changed my Pan Bagnat recipe page accordingly:

“…The Pan Bagnat is a classic ****Niçois**** sandwich and a great item for picnics, tailgate parties, fishing trips, and any other casual dining opportunity. The good citizens of Nice have reason to be proud of the Pan Bagnat tradition, and take it seriously, as evidenced by the establishment of the Commune Libre du Pan Bagnat: Association pour la Defence et la Promotion de l’Appelation Pan Bagnat. Visit their website (in French) for more information, including an official recipe, endorsements, and songs. …”

If you are aware of other web links about the Pan Bagnat, please let me know.

Best wishes and bon appetit!
